Anastasia Contour Cream Kit vs. NYX Conceal Correct Contour | Splurge or Save?

Hey guys, so I'm back with a comparison. I'm really excited to help you guys decide if you'd like to splurge or save.

I'll start off with the Anastasia Kit

  • Pros: It's creamy, blend-able, long lasting, and pigmented.
  • Cons: coral is kind of useless, I feel like I'm going to run out so quickly, there's no refills yet :(
  • Retail cost is $40. Each pan is 4.5 g.
  • 6 shades in each palette
  • Three shades available (light, medium, deep)

The colors are sooooo nice. I love the warmth in them. I've seen many people comment on the tone, and I don't think it's too warm. If you're light handed with it, it looks totally fine. The colors blend like a dream. I didn't have trouble with blending it, and I didn't have to add any oil to loosen up the formulation. The coral color isn't really necessary for me, I feel as if it's just a waste of time to use. The banana shade is amazing, I had the contour and highlight on for over 12 hours and it looked amazing all day. I couldn't believe it. Usually my under eyes start to get dark and no matter what concealer I used, it would always do that, but this... this stayed so well! I love this palette a lot, guys. Overall I'd rate this a 9/10 & I would repurchase it if I run out!

NYX 3C

  • Pros: Long lasting, blend able (barely), pigmented (when you use your hands)
  • Cons: Colors aren't very friendly for every skin tone, the yellow is too warm. the contour colors could have been darker, too sticky. No specification of the color. More oily at the end of the day.
  • Retail Price: $11.99. Each pan is 1.5 g
  • 6 shades in each palette and 3 skin shades to choose from (same as Ana.)

This palette isn't something I love, but I do think it's nice for a drugstore palette. It's really long-lasting. It pretty much lasted as long as the Ana kit. The colors however, are so much harder to work with. The formulation is sort of tacky, and I found it hard to pick up the product with a brush. I don't find it convenient that I would have to blend the colors to make a more ideal color because it's kind of a hassle. I think that if you guys don't want to splurge then this would be a good alternative. Overall, I'd rate this 6.5/10 & I would not repurchase.

Conclusion: Although the NYX isn't a horrible product, the Anastasia is just too good not to pass up. The Anastasia kit is really nice and it'll be such a good investment in the end. Every color is nice to work with. If you're afraid the colors are too warm, wait for the fair kit (Norvina said the colors will be cooler) I'm hoping that they'll come out with refills soon because this banana shade is gonna runout soon. Haha :) Thanks for reading!

Only the Beginning

Hi, little ones.
If you're reading this, it's already special to me.
I decided to start blogging, not that I haven't blogged. I've had a tumblr since 2009, (I still feel like it's 2012) & I still blog on there occasionally, but that's another story.
Anyways,

  1. I decided I wanted to post recipes, reviews, and just chit chats for anyone who wants to read.
  2. I also decided to start blogging in hopes that I would have more motivation to start recording & posting (rather than recording & deleting)
  3. I didn't like having to make my thoughts concise on Instagram. Through this I can go in depth, or on tangents, about products or anything in general.
  4. I love to read reviews/tutorials that are filled with comparisons and pictures. I will try to strive for that for anyone else because those are the kinds of posts I like.
  5. I will be posting as much as possible, if I buy a new product, if I find a yummy recipe, etc.
With this in mind, before I get ahead of myself, I just want to thank anyone who stumbles upon this post.
Thanks for reading.
